Whenever we print the printer make some noise if there's no paper in the manual tray. Then it just stops. If we however load paper into the manual tray, then the printer prints from there.

T642 Extension Guide + Duplexing problems
I replaced a fuser in a T642 and well, you know how it is. You take things apart and have extra pieces when you put them back together.
I'm not sure where the Extension Guide goes. Heres a pic of it.
Not sure if fixing that will fix my next problem, duplexing.
Duplexing was working great before I replaced the fuser assembly with a new OEM one.

When a duplexed print job comes down the line, It picks paper up from the bottom tray, 500 sheet legal, and it makes it up to the top of the printer. It comes out about as far as it used to and then you hear a "click"...

Lexmark printer stuck or locked in "Searching for Scanning Applications"
This is a very difficult problem to solve: and it means you CAN'T just scan something straight to an application on your computer (such as an image-viewing) program.
But after hours of searching on THREE different occasions I finally got the answer.
So to help other poor suffering souls frustrated by this piece of garbage set of printers, I'm posting the answer and hoping Googy will do the rest!

Lexmark E232 installing the 550 sheet drawer

I have a Lexmark E232 and the 550 sheet drawer.
In the option "installed option", i have activated 550 sheet drawer, but the printer is still taking sheet from the 250er.
How can i change the Printer to take the 550 sheet drawer?

Lexmark X543 IP Losing Connection
My Lexmark X543 occasionally loses its network connection and I have to reset ip addresses. Is it possible to give this printer a static ip? If so I will make all connected pcs on the lan static as well.

Lexmark T650n - configured to use both USB and TCP/IP on LAN...?
One of our offices has a Lexmark T650n printer set up to be "shared" by two users (User A and User B). The users sit beside each other with the printer located between them. The printer was installed / configured by the vendor / supplier 2+ years ago.
Recently, the two users asked if I could "stop the printer from printing two pages every time User A shut down her computer at end of day".
This seemed to be very odd behaviour, so when I next attended onsite at this office, I tried to replicate the issue. Logged in on User A's system, and printed a test page to verify printer connectivity. Test page printed fine. Restarted the system... and when Windows shut down, a single page printed, with a single character at the top left corner - a capital N with a tilde above it. When Windows was starting up, a second page printed, with this...

Lexmark X945e - Duplex Scanning
When users are scanning to the network or to an e-mail address, the X945e always performs a duplex scan (both sides of the pages) so their works always end up with blank pages. This happens even if the option by default is Simplex or if they manually switch back to Simplex.
I checked all the configuration options and they all seem to be set to Simplex.
If they just photocopy it works fine as intended. Does anyone here have experience with this Lexmark product?

How do I view the maintenance counter on the X782e?
On the X658dfe I can find it in the service menu but I can't find the same on the service menu of the X782e. I can just reset the counter.
Lexmark suddenly changed its policy on maintenance parts so I need to provide that info to them.

How can i add a tray to my printer Lexmark T640 programatically ?
I have an application that uses all of our lexmark T640 trays. Each tray need to have a different configuration.
This application assumes the printer is alredy configured.
We would like to automatize this configuration (since manually configuration comes with human errors).
Since this kind of printers are used only for this application, i want to put this tray configuration on my installer.
My problem is i dont know how to tell the printer to add trays neither config them.
Is there a way to configure trays programatically (by code) or with a .bat ??
Any lead will be appreciated.

Ipad 4 and Lexmark E238
I have an old old Lexmark E238 and I love the thing, I would love to be able to print to it via my Ipad, I have the printer connected via a Dlink DPR-1260 (4 port Wifi/wired print server.) My android phone and desktop print flawlessly to the printer, but when I tried to print using the Ipad - it flatly refused to print or much less even find the print server.)
Any suggestions would be a big help. Lexmark tech support suggested just looking through the App Store, but that was like finding a needle in a haystack without either - the needle or the haystack.

Setting up a magnetic card reader?
We got a Lexmark T650 with a parallel port expansion card, on which we plug a PS/2 adapter on which the magnetic card reader is connected.
I installed everything and the card reader lights up. But nowhere on the embedded web server can I configure the card reader.
The only documentation I have is for the hardware installation.

Lexmark Toner Surgery
So I came across a user that bought toner a couple years ago when their department had some extra funds. What I didn't know was the toner ordered was for another Lexmark printer. :-/
The toner tanks were Identical. Down to the markings in the plastic. I noticed the only difference was the label affixed and the tiny little chip on the underside.
I had the brilliant idea to gently pry off the "chip" on the spent toner. (No use trying it on an unused cartridge) to my surprise it came off with almost no issue. I repeated the same on the new cartridge and BOOM! They now have a full toner cartridge!
The printer still shows its low but it prints perfectly. I told them to watch it and let me know if they come across any issues with print quality. Its been over a month and so far its working spectacularly.
Just thought I would share in case...

this printer keeps on feeding and unfeeding the paper, which is very annoying for the end users sitting next to the printer.

122.03 Service Fuser Error - Is it time to replace?
I am getting the above error on a Lexmark C544dn with fewer than 1000 pages printed and since it is out of warranty I am thinking that replacing the fuser will fix the issue.
Has anyone encountered this before and has a new fuser fixed it or is there something else I can try.

Query AD user info with my MX711
We got a fancy MX711 to replace an ancient Canon photocopier.
I'd like to 'depreciate' faxing as much as possible, but the obvious barrier is no one really wants to type email addresses over and over on a touch screen.
I think the printer should be able to query AD for email addresses and fax numbers, but can't find the right docs to tell me how. Anyone done this can point me in the right direction?

Knocking while printing.
We got 4 used Lexmark T652dn. Not a bad printer, but sometimes while printing it makes a knock noise. I don't really know what it is. We already heard it on 2 printers...
